Looking for inspiration for colors to wrap my Miata, I drove past the local British shop. Got some pics, including this one ruined by an explorer in the background

I spy with my little eye, a pre-1986 TVR Tasmin soft top.

I think that’s actually an Expedition.

Two things:
That’s a series 2 Etype FHC (69-71)
That’s
British Standard Motors/Motorhead LTD.

1) if you say so, I believe you
2) yup! A mile or so from my house, on the way to shopping centers. One day the colors caught my eye, and made the right instead of a left, and found it. I drive by every now and then just to see what they're working on

Eh, probably. They're all the same

They always have ridiculous stuff there. Mostly British, mostly soft tops.

It changed hands about three years ago.
It’s been there for like, 20-30
years as Motorhead LTD. They used to also be a mail-order parts store - as in before the internet when you had to use THE PHONE.

My Jaguar mechanic is full of XJS in various states of disrepair:

Oh yeah. That place is cool but my Triumph mechanic is where the real car porno lives. It’s full of A-H, MG, Lotus, Triumph and Morgans.

I don’t think they like working on my janky cars.

McMike got the place right, so you can grab the address. I'm not condoning grand theft auto, but if you do, swing by my place afterwards. My finder's fee is some wheel time

Even the early Ford Pinto engine in them sounds great, never mind the later Rover V8 engine.

Wrong, the Rover V8 is better and the Speed Six is best ever

Allow me to re-cap for you.
Even the early Ford Pinto engine in them sounds great, never mind the later Rover V8 engine.
‘ Even’ meaning, not the best, but also.
I had the privilege of standing near a Tasmin 200. I didn’t know it at the time as I was getting into a friend’s car. Then the TVR started up and I spin round to see what the loud noise was. It sounded great.
Sure the V8s sound the best, especially the warble as they sit there.

Ah I miss read “never mind” as meaning don’t bother with.

Lol. Two countries separated by a common language.
Sorry, reading back my reply, it sounds douchie. Sorry.

Lol it is all good. Tone is hard to perceive via text.
I was more astounded an Englishman would bash any TVR ;)

There are some that aren’t interested in TVRs here.
But we have some museums in Cumbria that appreciate them. The oldest surviving TVR, a 1952 TVR No.2 lives here in Cumbria at the Lakeland Motor Museum.

That is beautiful!
